Summer activities

Mountain climbing: Bionaz is the starting point of several mountain climbs as the Dent d’Hérens (mt 4.171), the Luseney, the Mont Gelé, the Tête de Valpelline, the Château de Dame.

We suggest you to contact the alpine guides of Valpelline, who will take you to the peaks or will advice you on the best ways to climb our beautiful mountains.

Rock climbing: Cretes is the perfect destination for those who love rock climbing; in the vicinity of Clé du Paradis you can climb up natural rock formations as well as artificial rock walls.

Excursions: Nearby our B&B you will also find several hiking trails to discover the valley; in the neighboring woods you will find abandoned old mines and a beautiful alpine lake, with a pic nic area. The main attraction is the dam of Place Moulin, one of the biggest in Europe, which creates Lake Prarayer, a 4,5 kilometres artificial basin nestled between the mountains.
Taking the path that runs along the lake you will join the mountain dew of Prarayer, where you can savour typical dishes from the Valpelline. In addition you can take, upon reservation, the guided tour that provides a closer look at both external and internal dam features.

Trekking: The Valpelline is well known among trekking lovers for the beautiful hikes one can take in its different valleys: many trails lead to alpages, bivouacs and mountain dews of Prarayer, Nacamuli and Aosta, where it is possible to savour typical dishes from the Valpelline. One can choose among several treks with different level of difficulty: the treks leading to the Mont Gelé and to Chentre Bionaz bivouac, (designed by dutch artist Arjen Bakermans), are two difficult treks, advisable for expert hikers. Easier treks are the paths leading to the Col of Chardonney and the mountain dew of Crête Sèche. Any track one will decide to take gives the possibility of enjoying the extraordinary nature of the valley, for a real mountain experience.
